The permanent exhibition in the main castle is dedicated to the history of Burg Vischering and its inhabitants, dating from the beginning of the 13th to the beginning of the 20th century. Within a diverse and interactive exhibition, visitors can trace back the ascent of the Droste family from a simple knight dynasty to one of the most important landed-gentry families of the Münsterland. In parallel, it opens up an intriguing insight into the development of the local forts and castles and their rich aristocratic culture. The Knights’ Hall, with its artistic wall installation, a highlight of the exhibition, revives the aristocratic world of around 1770. Especially the ground level provides a variety of opportunities for children to play.
