The exhibition, „Look and See“, shows fascinating and at the same time stirring works of photographer Rolf Bauerdick (1957-2018). For three decades, he captured images of people at the margin of society. He was interested in mysteries, myths and rituals all over the world. His long-term photo documentations, among others “Gypsy-Passion”, as well as “Mama, Du siehst zuviel” (Mom, you see too much), attracted great attention.  For the first time both are now presented together in this exhibition.

The graduate theologian and literary scholar worked as a freelance journalist, author and photographer and wrote socio-critical reports for notable magazines both nationally and internationally, as well as non-fiction books. Rolf Bauerdick received many awards for his social and socio-political commitment. For his novel, “The Madonna on the Moon”, translated worldwide, he received the European Book Prize 2012.

The exhibition is taking place in co-operation with the Catholic Church St. Felizitas and the Protestant Church in Lüdinghausen. At times, photographs by Rolf Bauerdick are shown at both venues.
