The trumpeter Itamar Borochov grew up in the cosmopolitan harbour city of Jaffa, went to New York when he was twenty, and there developed his own unique style of music. With elegant refinement and an extraordinary magical sound, he connects Manhattan to North Africa, but also to modern Israel. Aside from that, very different major players like Edith Piaf, Weather Report, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan or Prince have laid the foundation for his musical openness. The Itamar Borochov Quartet takes its audience along on a fascinating journey – in a world of its own between contemporary music, and yet, at the same time traditionally rooted music.

Its latest release, “Blue Nights” (Laborie Jazz 2019), is a multicultural, inspiring, musical experience with enchanting lyrics, exotic motifs, and virtually hymnal and virtuoso expression.
